The Outhouse mounts to your roof rack, load bars or the side of a Bush Company rooftop tent, and drops down from its bag when you need a private shower, toilet or change room at camp. No poles to pitch and no separate tent to pack.


About 1.1m × 1.0m inside the frame, with a height adjustable up to 2.6m. 260gsm acrylic-treated polyester ripstop canvas, a swing-out door, and a separate heavy-duty PVC floor with drain holes. Mounting brackets are sold separately.

Outhouse Shower Tent: privacy that lives on the vehicle

A shower tent is one more thing to pitch, peg and pack wet. The Outhouse lives in a heavy-duty PVC bag on your roof rack, load bars or the side of your rooftop tent. Unzip the bag and it drops down beside the vehicle, ready to use as a shower, a toilet tent or a privacy room for getting changed, with the roof already in place.

Size

  • Frame when open: 1110mm (3'7.7") × 1042mm (3'5"), so about 1.1m (3'7.3") × 1.0m (3'3.4") of floor space.
  • Door: swings out from the frame; allow about 1.9m (6'2.8") from the mounting edge with the door open.
  • Height: adjustable up to 2.6m (8'6.4") with the webbing straps, to suit your vehicle.

  • Canvas: 260gsm (7.7 oz/yd²) acrylic-treated polyester ripstop canvas, mould and mildew resistant.
  • Swing-out door for easy access, plus a large rear access.
  • Adjustable drop height: a built-in canvas roof and adjustable webbing straps set the height to suit your 4WD, ute, trailer or camper.
  • Floor: a separate heavy-duty PVC floor with built-in drain holes, so water runs out rather than pooling.
  • Storage: two movable pockets for shampoo, soap and toiletries; mesh window for airflow.
  • YKK zips on the entrance and the bag.
  • Packs away into its heavy-duty PVC bag on a frame that folds to 1110 × 144 × 134mm (3'7.7" × 5.7in × 5.3in); 20kg (44.1 lb).

The frame has 980mm (38.6in) of mounting surface with M8 mounting slots at a 73.5mm (2.9in) pitch. Always position the centre of the Outhouse frame centrally between the bracket sets for even load support.

As with any roof-mounted gear, add up everything carried on top and confirm the total is within the dynamic roof load ratings of your tent, rack and vehicle.
