Flat Plate Fitment Bracket (4 in Set)

Joins Crossing Extruded Channels Flat · Set of 4 · Stainless Steel

When two extruded channels cross one on top of the other, these flat plates clamp them together with nothing in between to add height. They're ideal for mounting a roof rack such as our Explorer Roof Rack to roof rails, and for the lowest possible rooftop tent installation.

Each 81mm × 81mm plate has four slotted holes for alignment. The set has four plates and 16 stainless steel bolts, washers and nyloc nuts. Not suitable for the AX27, DX27, TX27 or TX27 MAX.

Flat Plate Fitment Brackets: low-profile mounting for crossing channels

Where two extruded channels are laid across one another, a Flat Plate clamps them together at the crossing point, with no load bar or raised bracket in between. That keeps the installation as low as possible, which means less wind noise and drag and better clearance in garages and car parks.

Where to use them

  • Roof racks: they're ideal for fixing a roof rack, such as our Explorer Roof Rack, to roof rails.
  • Rooftop tents: for a low installation where the tent's channels cross the rails or bars underneath. They are not suitable for the AX27, DX27, TX27 or TX27 MAX, because the foot rails on those tents are too wide.
  • Where the channels sit perpendicular to each other and you need to fix to the outside edge of the tent's rails, use the Flush Mount Brackets instead.

How many you need

We recommend a minimum of three fixing points on each side of a rooftop tent, so a tent needs two sets. Each plate is 81mm (3.2in) × 81mm (3.2in) with four slotted holes, so you can line the channels up even when the spacing isn't exact.

As with any roof-mounted gear, add up everything carried on top and confirm the total is within the dynamic roof load ratings of your tent, rack and vehicle.
