Wall Kit 270 XT Awning

270° Awning Wall Kit for the 270 XT Mk2

Four interchangeable walls in 260gsm ±5% acrylic-treated polyester ripstop canvas turn the 270 XT Mk2 into a sheltered, private space. Every wall has a zippered mesh window for airflow, one has a large roll-up door with its own window, and 600gsm PVC mud skirts protect the base on uneven or muddy ground.

The walls join with YKK spiral zips and attach to the awning with 50mm Velcro; four aluminium telescopic poles extend to 2.6m, and pegs are included. The walls pack into one heavy-duty canvas bag, with the poles in a separate canvas bag. Fits any awning with a Velcro loop strip on its valance. 12-month warranty.

270 XT Wall Kit: a full enclosure for your 270° awning

Four interchangeable canvas walls that turn the 270 XT Mk2 Awning into a sheltered, private living space. Enclose it completely, run a single wall as a windbreak, or open everything up to the breeze.

What's in the kit

  • Four interchangeable walls, all the same size: three with a large zippered mesh window, and one with a roll-up door that has its own window.
  • Four aluminium telescopic poles extending to 2.6m (8'6"), plus a retrofit webbing strap for older awnings.
  • Pegs for the wall skirts.
  • One heavy-duty canvas bag for all four walls, and a separate canvas bag for the poles.

How you'll use it

Because every wall is the same size, you can put the door wherever it suits the campsite: facing the fire, away from the wind, or towards the track. Close all four for a private room when the weather turns, drop one or two on the weather side as a windbreak, or open the windows and let the breeze through on a hot afternoon.

Each window has midge mesh on the outside and a canvas flap on the inside that zips up from the bottom, so you can open it a third, halfway or all the way from inside. With the flap closed, rain beads off the outside and stays out. The door rolls up and ties off for a wide entry.

The poles fit the built-in holes in the trussed arms and, on Mk2 awnings, the webbing loop built into the outer edge of the canvas at the end of the non-trussed arm. For older models, the supplied retrofit webbing strap gives the non-trussed arm a pole point and can stay on the awning. Once the walls are up, the poles carry their weight and the extra wind load. Tie-down points on the skirts let you tuck the excess in or peg the skirt out at an angle, and pegging the walls down well is worth the time in wind. One person can set up and pack away the whole kit.

Built for Australian weather

260gsm ±5% (7.7 oz/yd²) acrylic-treated polyester ripstop canvas for water, mildew and UV resistance, with a 600gsm (17.7 oz/yd²) PVC mud skirt stitched into every base that takes the splash-back from mud and sand and wipes clean. Panels join with YKK spiral zips, made from spiralled polyester and nylon: the softest, smoothest-running zip YKK makes. They won't rust or corrode at the beach, and they open from inside or outside.

Fit

Made for the 270 XT Mk2. The walls attach with 50mm (2in) Velcro to the loop strip on the awning's valance, so they also fit any awning with a Velcro loop strip on its valance. 12-month warranty.

Only need one or two walls? The Universal Single Canvas Wall and Universal Single Mesh Wall fit any Bush Company awning, and zip together along their sides to increase coverage as required.

I didn't realise the setup came in one large bag

I didn't realise the setup came in one large bag, I was expecting two bags with two walls in each as per the video.

I own a Prado 150 & the poles will not fit across the back seat, I cannot close the doors, I am planning to cut approx 150mm of each pole so they can fit.

Having to pack it all back into the narrow end of the bag is more difficult then putting it into the wider part.

I will be discarding the large bag!

other than those little frustrations, the quality is excellent!
