About 18V to 12V Power Supplies
The 18V to 12V Step Down Power Supply converts a standard 18–20V tool battery into adjustable 5–13V power at up to 10A through an Anderson plug, with a display showing the output voltage. Pick your battery brand above, or use the Battery platform filter, to see only the versions that fit.
This or the PRO?
- 18V to 12V Step Down Power Supply: adjustable 5–13V at up to 10A through an Anderson plug, with a display showing the output voltage. Suits lights, pumps, fans and single loads around the awning and the tent.
- Volt Step Down PRO: 15A through an Anderson plug, plus a 12V socket and 65W USB-C. Suits a 12V fridge, or running several things at once.
What you can run
- LED lights and light strips
- A water pump, or a Sirocco II fan with an Anderson to 12V socket lead
- A 12V fridge (see runtime below)
How long will it run a fridge?
At temperature, most 12V fridges average about 1 amp, so a 12Ah tool battery gives roughly 12 hours. Pre-cool the fridge on the drive in; hot days make it cycle more and shorten that.
Works with
- Plug 12V socket gear into the Anderson outlet with a lead from 12V, USB-C & Anderson Leads.
- Recharge on the drive with an In-Vehicle Battery Charger.
Before you buy
- Tool battery not included. Each version fits the 18–20V slide-on batteries of the brand in its name.
- Low-voltage, over-current and short-circuit protection built in.
- Don't use dual-battery adaptors, and never combine two batteries at different charge levels.
- Shipping is free within Australia when your Off-Grid Power items total over $200. They ship from our Australian warehouse partner, usually within one business day, and aren't available for pickup from our Marcoola showroom.
Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Bosch, Ryobi, AEG, Ozito, Einhell and HiKOKI are trade marks of their respective owners. These are aftermarket products, made to fit those batteries but not made, approved or endorsed by the battery brands.
Questions
Will it run my fridge?
Yes, it supplies up to 10A. At temperature, most 12V fridges average about 1 amp, so a 12Ah tool battery gives roughly 12 hours. Pre-cool the fridge on the drive in; hot days make it cycle more and shorten that. If you want the fridge and other gear on at the same time, choose the Volt Step Down PRO (15A).
Can I adjust the output voltage?
Yes, from 5V to 13V, and the display shows the setting. Most 12V touring gear is designed for about 12–13V, so check what your device needs before you connect it.
How do I connect gear with a 12V cigarette plug?
Use our Anderson Plug to 12V Socket Adaptor Lead. Plug it into the Anderson outlet, then plug your gear into the socket.
Which batteries do they fit?
Versions are made for Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Bosch, Ryobi ONE+, AEG, Ozito/Einhell and HiKOKI 18V batteries. Pick your brand above. Batteries aren't included.
