The PRO clips onto an 18V tool battery and gives you 15A through an Anderson plug, a 12V socket and 65W USB-C: enough for the fridge, the lights and a laptop or Starlink Mini at once.

About Volt Step Down PRO
The Volt Step Down PRO is the one to choose if you want to run a 12V fridge away from the vehicle, or several things at once. It earns its place when the car is parked up for a few days: the fridge in the shade, a fan in the rooftop tent overnight, the lights under the awning, all without drawing on the auxiliary battery. Pick your battery brand above, or use the Battery platform filter, to see only the versions that fit.
Outputs
- Anderson (SB50) plug, up to 15A, for a 12V fridge or other high-draw gear
- 12V socket for lights, a pump or a Sirocco II fan
- USB-C PD up to 65W for laptops, phones and a Starlink Mini
How long will it run a fridge?
At temperature, most 12V fridges average about 1 amp, so a 12Ah tool battery gives roughly 12 hours. Pre-cool the fridge on the drive in; hot days make it cycle more and shorten that. Swap in a second battery to keep going.
PRO or the standard power supply?
- Volt Step Down PRO: 15A, plus a 12V socket and 65W USB-C. For a fridge, or several things at once.
- 18V to 12V Power Supplies: up to 10A through an Anderson plug, adjustable 5–13V. For lights, pumps and single loads.
Works with
- Recharge the battery on the drive with an In-Vehicle Battery Charger.
- Run a Starlink Mini from the USB-C port with our USB-C to 20V DC Cable for Starlink Mini.
- Splitters and the 12V socket lead are in 12V, USB-C & Anderson Leads.
Before you buy
- Tool battery not included. Each version fits the 18–20V slide-on batteries of the brand in its name.
- Low-voltage, over-current and short-circuit protection built in.
- Don't use dual-battery adaptors, and never combine two batteries at different charge levels. Both can damage the batteries.
- Shipping is free within Australia when your Off-Grid Power items total over $200. They ship from our Australian warehouse partner, usually within one business day, and aren't available for pickup from our Marcoola showroom.
Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Bosch, Ryobi, AEG, Ozito, Einhell and HiKOKI are trade marks of their respective owners. These are aftermarket products, made to fit those batteries but not made, approved or endorsed by the battery brands.
Questions
Will it run my 12V fridge?
Yes. It supplies up to 15A through the Anderson plug. At temperature, most 12V fridges average about 1 amp, so a 12Ah tool battery gives roughly 12 hours. Pre-cool the fridge on the drive in; hot days make it cycle more and shorten that.
Can I run the fridge and charge a laptop at the same time?
Yes. The Anderson plug, 12V socket and USB-C port all work at once. The more you run, the shorter the battery lasts.
Can I power a Starlink Mini with it?
Yes. The USB-C port supplies up to 65W (PD3.0). Use our USB-C to 20V DC Cable for Starlink Mini, which has the chip that switches the port to 20V. The genuine Starlink USB-C cable won't run from it.
Which batteries does it fit?
Versions are made for Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Bosch, Ryobi ONE+, AEG and Ozito/Einhell 18V batteries. Pick your brand above. Batteries aren't included.
Can I use two batteries for longer runtime?
No. Don't use dual-battery adaptors, and never combine two batteries at different charge levels. Swap in a fresh battery instead.
