About Off-Grid Power

Most tourers already carry a few 18V tool batteries for the impact driver and the compressor. Off-Grid Power turns them into portable 12V power you can carry away from the vehicle: run the fridge at a base camp, the lights under the awning or a fan in the rooftop tent without touching the auxiliary battery. Pick your battery brand above, or use the Battery platform filter, to see only the versions that fit.

Choose by what you want to run

Before you buy

  • Tool battery not included. Each version fits the 18–20V slide-on batteries of the brand in its name.
  • Not every product is made for every battery brand. The picker shows what's available for yours.
  • Low-voltage protection on the battery-powered units switches them off before the battery is run flat.
  • Shipping is free within Australia when your Off-Grid Power items total over $200. They ship from our Australian warehouse partner, usually within one business day, and aren't available for pickup from our Marcoola showroom.

Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Bosch, Ryobi, AEG, Ozito, Einhell and HiKOKI are trade marks of their respective owners. These are aftermarket products, made to fit those batteries but not made, approved or endorsed by the battery brands.

Questions

Which battery brands do you cover?

Makita 18V LXT, Milwaukee M18, DeWalt 18V XR, Bosch Professional 18V, Ryobi ONE+, AEG 18V, Ozito PXC/Einhell Power X-Change and HiKOKI 18V. Not every product is made for every brand, so pick yours above to see what fits.

Are batteries included?

No. These run on the 18V tool batteries you already own. A higher-Ah battery runs your gear for longer.

Are these genuine Makita, Milwaukee or DeWalt products?

No. They're aftermarket products made to fit those batteries. They're not made, approved or endorsed by the battery brands.

What do I need to run a 12V fridge?

The Volt Step Down PRO is the best fit: 15A through an Anderson plug, with a 12V socket and USB-C as well. At temperature, most 12V fridges average about 1 amp, so a 12Ah tool battery gives roughly 12 hours. Pre-cool the fridge on the drive in; hot days make it cycle more and shorten that.

How do I keep the batteries charged on a trip?

Use an In-Vehicle Battery Charger. It plugs into a 12V or 24V socket and charges a tool battery while you drive, so you arrive at camp with a full one.

Is shipping free?

Yes, within Australia, when your Off-Grid Power items total over $200. Below that, shipping is calculated at checkout. Off-Grid Power items are only sold and delivered within Australia.

Can I pick these up from the Marcoola showroom?

No. Off-Grid Power items ship from our Australian warehouse partner, usually within one business day, and arrive separately from anything sent from Marcoola.
