Turn a DeWalt 18V battery into 12V power

A simple 18V to 12V converter for a DeWalt 18V XR battery: adjustable 5–13V at up to 10A through an Anderson plug, with a display showing the voltage. It runs LED lights, a pump, a Sirocco II fan (with our Anderson to 12V socket lead) or a 12V fridge.

It suits lighter loads around the awning and the tent, and the voltage display makes it easy to match gear that wants less than 12V.

Fridge runtime

At temperature, a 12V fridge draws about 1 amp on average, so a 12Ah battery gives roughly 12 hours. Pre-cool the fridge first; hot weather shortens runtime. For a fridge plus other gear at once, the Volt Step Down PRO (15A) is the better fit.

Before you buy

  • Fits DeWalt 18V XR slide-on batteries. Battery not included.

Questions

Does it come with a battery?
No. It fits the DeWalt 18V XR batteries you already own. A bigger battery (higher Ah) runs your gear for longer.

Will it run a 12V fridge?
Yes, up to 10A. At temperature, most 12V fridges draw about 1 amp on average, so a 12Ah battery gives roughly 12 hours. For a fridge plus other gear at once, choose the Volt Step Down PRO (15A).

What voltage should I set?
Most 12V camping gear is designed for about 12–13V. Check what your device needs, then set it on the display before connecting.

DeWalt is a trade mark of its owner. This is an aftermarket product, compatible with DeWalt 18V XR batteries but not made, approved or endorsed by DeWalt.
